CONTINUITY TESTER
INSTRUCTION SHEET
This probe tests more than a circuit tester.
With the crock
clip connected to the 0V of the system to be tested:
When testing
a system less than 9V:
Probe isolated Green on, Red on
Probe
earth Green off, Red on
When testing systems over 9V (called
+ve)
Probe isolated Green on, Red on
Probe earth Green off, Red
on
Probe +ve Green on, Red off

Construction Method
1. Check your P.C.Board carefully for damage to the tracks.
2. Identify the resistors by their
colour bands or with a multimeter. Bend the legs with long-nose pliers to
match their holes and push them into place against the surface of the board.
Solder in place - refer Soldering
Technique .
3. The LEDs are also polarised. See diodes. The short leg is the 'K' leg. Solder in place.
4. Solder the pins in the holes for the battery
connections, crock clip and probe.
5. Attach the wire
to the crock clip, the other end to the pin. See Tinning Wire .
6. Soler the battery snap.

Trouble Shooting
Troubleshooting will involve careful checking of locations
and polarity of all components. Re-solder all joints and check to
make sure you have not bridged across
between any two adjacent component legs. The end
of a broken hacksaw blade sharpened on
an emery wheel is a good tool for cleaning between soldered
joints.
